The Wilsonton State High School Growth 2022 Project delivered a major expansion and refurbishment program to support the school’s growing enrolment and modern learning requirements.

The works involved construction of three new buildings and refurbishment of three existing facilities, together with an infill development designed to enhance connectivity and functionality across the campus. Key elements included upgrades to teaching spaces, delivery of a modern Performing Arts Centre with advanced audio-visual systems, and new contemporary learning environments across the site.

Innovative construction solutions were adopted to optimise programme performance and quality outcomes, including continuous poured 11-metre concrete columns and the use of PGH InBrick precast panels to achieve a finished brick façade without traditional bricklaying. Delivered within a live school environment and under tight timeframes, the project required careful staging, detailed design coordination and strong trade integration.

The completed development significantly enhanced campus infrastructure and provides flexible, future-focused learning facilities for the Wilsonton State High School community. In July 2023, the project was recognised at the Master Builders Awards (Darling Downs and Western Region), receiving the award for Best Education Project over $10 million.
