We are seeking experienced Leading Hands to join our team, with potentially two positions available. One position will initially be based on the McAuley College Stage 2 project in Beaudesert, before transitioning to support other projects throughout the Brisbane region. A second potential position will be based across projects within the Brisbane region.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will provide hands-on leadership and guidance to trades and site personnel, helping to coordinate daily construction activities and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to an experienced tradesperson who is comfortable taking responsibility on site, providing direction to a work crew and stepping up to coordinate the team independently when required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily work activities and provide direction to trades and site personnel in accordance with project requirements and direction from the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.
• Provide hands-on leadership to the work crew and step up to direct site activities in the Site Supervisor’s absence when required.
• Assist with maintaining construction quality and ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications and requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and proactively identify and address hazards, unsafe conditions and unsafe work practices.
• Ensure Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), permits and other required safety documentation are in place and followed.
• Conduct daily pre-start meetings and assist with toolbox talks and site safety discussions.
• Complete and maintain required site documentation, including site diaries, pre-starts, permits, toolbox records and timesheets.
• Monitor site activities and take appropriate action where safety, quality or compliance standards are not being met.
• Assist with incident reporting and investigations and support site emergency response requirements.
• Ensure plant and equipment are operated safely and in accordance with relevant requirements.
• Mentor and support site personnel, promoting positive performance, teamwork and accountability.
• Work with the Site Supervisors, HSEQ Advisor and project team to deliver new build, refurbishment and fit-out works on an operating school site.
• Comply with Bryant’s Integrated Management System, relevant legislation and project HSEQ requirements.

About You

• Experience working within a trade or construction crew in the building and construction industry.
• Experience providing direction to a work crew and the ability to step up and coordinate a team independently when required.
• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification – mandatory.
• Current General Construction Induction Training (White Card).
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide clear direction and support to site personnel.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
• Sound planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to undertake manual work where required.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and maintaining a positive site culture.

Highly regarded:

• Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building), or equivalent.
• Supervisors Licence.
• Hammertech and Procore experience.
• Experience on commercial or education construction projects.

We’re looking for an experienced Design Manager to join our team in West End. You’ll be responsible for resolving the design on our projects in line with project requirements, including coordinating all design documentation and processes. You’ll also lead and manage the consultant team to deliver the required information within project milestones, build strong client relationships, and ensure clear communication between the consultant team and the client group.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare Requests for Tender for consultants (scope, program and relevant project information), review fee proposals and recommend preferred consultants and costs.
• Undertake risk assessments and technical reviews of project documents and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to construction methodology and value management, using innovative design, materials and methodologies to mitigate construction and safety risks and reduce time and cost, and present options succinctly to the Bid team and Client.
• Develop the project design management plan and systems, covering program, design change, value management and safety in design.
• Develop and deliver and administrate design programs. Including management and direction of consultant teams to meet the program milestones for each design stage.
• Deliver coordinated, comprehensive documentation at each design stage.
• Build a collaborative relationship with the Client, whilst understanding and communicating the PPR to all relevant stakeholders and assessing design documentation against it throughout the project.
• Drive innovation through simplified construction sequencing and robust, durable detailing.
• Undertake a comprehensive process to ensure that all authority, NCC and external standards requirements are met and integrated into the project design in a cost effective manner.
• Coordinate, prepare and deliver a safety in design report at each design stage.
• Undertake internal logistics and constructability reviews with appropriate project staff.
• Contribute to project budget development and monitor design selections to ensure the budget is maintained.
• Manage consultancy agreements, fee proposals and progress claims with the Contract Administrator, ensuring payment reflects work completed.
• Undertake design handover to the project delivery team and provide ongoing design support, including attendance at PCG meetings.
• Facilitate RFI resolution with the design team, and communicate opportunities to the Client as they arise
• Schedule and attend consultant, client and site meetings, and issue design meeting minutes promptly

About You

• Minimum 3-5 years design management experience within a Head Contractor environment
• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or similar
• Experience coordinating external stakeholders and design consultants to ensure the deliverable milestones required are reached within the project design timeline.
• Sound knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards, and quality management principles, include common trade quality issues and how to mitigate them through design documentation.
• Ability to interrogate specifications, translate them into project-specific requirements, and identify risks and mitigations, seeking specialty input where necessary.
• Manage shop drawing approvals, design reviews and third-party inspections to ensure compliance and maintain design intent.
• Understanding of the BIM environment and the ability to navigate and utilise software such as Navisworks or Revizto.
• Sound understanding of project planning principles (critical path, key dates, target and contractual programs), with working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Understanding of cost principles, including margin, contingency, risk and opportunity.
• Manage RFIs and issue clear, timely design documentation to keep site works on track and support cost-effective solutions.
• Understanding of how program, cost, quality and safety interrelate, and ability to communicate the implications of decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication (including correspondence, tenders, proposals and presentations), problem-solving, time management and organisational skills; proficient in Microsoft Office

We are seeking an experienced Logistics/Yard Coordinator to coordinate the movement of plant, equipment, materials, and deliveries across our Cairns projects and yard. The role ensures resources arrive on site safely and on time, and it includes hands-on operation of plant, equipment, and vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive, check, and store incoming deliveries of materials, plant, and equipment against delivery dockets and purchase orders.
• Plan and schedule deliveries, pick-ups and transfers of plant, equipment and materials between the yard, suppliers and project sites.
• Pick, pack, and stage materials for site deliveries in line with site requisitions and delivery schedules.
• Drive company Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) vehicles for deliveries and transfers.
• Operate skid steer, excavator and telehandler for loading, unloading, site set-up and yard work.

 About You

• At least 2+ years’ experience in a similar role within a building, construction, timber, hardware or similar industry.
• Current HR class licence.
• Current forklift licence.
• Construction induction/white card.
• Licences and tickets for skid steer, excavator, and telehandler, or a willingness to obtain them within an agreed timeframe with Bryant’s support.
•  Sound understanding of manual handling, load restraint, and safe stacking/storage practices.
• Computer literacy for stock recording, delivery dockets, and email communication.
• Proactive approach and problem-solving attitude, with a willingness to get in and help team/s as required.
• Strong safety awareness and a disciplined approach to manual handling, forklift operation, and driving.
