The Thursday Island Police Station Redevelopment delivered a staged upgrade of a critical operational facility within the Torres Strait, enhancing functionality, security and infrastructure capability.

The project was delivered across two stages, comprising renovations to the existing Police Station and Watch House, including upgrades to communications infrastructure, followed by major redevelopment works to modernise and expand the station facilities. The works were carefully coordinated to maintain full operational capability throughout the construction period.

Undertaken within a live, high-security environment, the project required strict staging, controlled access and detailed planning to ensure the safety of personnel and continuity of police operations. Delivery in a remote island location further required careful logistical coordination and resource management. Through disciplined program management and close stakeholder collaboration, the project was successfully delivered, providing an upgraded facility that supports ongoing policing and community safety in the region.
