Sunshine Coast Recreation Precinct

Located in Currimundi, the Sunshine Coast Recreation Precinct redevelopment delivered a contemporary indoor sporting hub designed to serve schools, community groups and regional sporting organisations.

The new facility incorporates two full-size indoor courts with retractable basketball systems, modern changerooms (including accessible amenities), a reception and café area, and supporting storage spaces. External works included a new main entry, expanded carparking, landscaped surrounds and a nature play area, while the existing Tea Tree Building was carefully relocated to support the broader masterplan vision.

Delivered within a precinct that remained operational seven days a week, the project required careful programming to coordinate service interruptions and maintain public safety.  Commencing in a volatile post-COVID construction market, early procurement planning and strong subcontractor coordination ensured the works were completed on schedule. The result is a dynamic and versatile community asset that strengthens regional recreation infrastructure and supports long-term growth across the Sunshine Coast.
