Remote Construction, Schools & Educational Facilities
Construction
Cairns and Far North Queensland
The St Joseph’s Primary School project in Weipa delivered the first new primary school constructed for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cairns, providing modern education infrastructure to support the local community.
Stage 1 comprised construction of a new administration building, amenities, classrooms, undercover sports court, covered walkways, landscaping, carparking and associated infrastructure works, together with refurbishment of the nearby Presbytery building. Delivered within a remote Far North Queensland location, the project required careful planning and coordination to ensure completion ahead of the 2016 school year.
The success of Stage 1 resulted in the project being nominated in the Far North Queensland Housing and Construction Awards 2016 and led to Bryant being awarded Stage 2 of the development. Stage 2 included extensions to provide two additional General Learning Areas (GLAs) and Learning Support Teacher (LST) spaces, together with a new wet area and refurbishment of the administration facilities.
The completed development provides contemporary and functional learning environments tailored to the needs of the school community.
