Southern Cross Austereo

The Southern Cross Austereo project delivered the alterations and fit-out of an existing commercial building to accommodate a new tenant, creating a high-performance media and broadcasting facility.

The works comprised construction of six high-specification studios incorporating acoustic glazing, acoustic wall systems and specialised services and finishes to meet strict operational requirements. The scope also included significant structural modifications to support 24-hour media operations, including a new generator enclosure, roof platforms for mechanical and satellite equipment, and upgrades to the main electrical switchboard.

Delivered within a constrained footprint and tight program, the project required a high level of coordination across multiple subcontractors and trades. Through disciplined planning and effective management, the project was successfully delivered, providing a technically advanced and fully functional broadcast environment tailored to the client’s operational needs.
