Location

Toowoomba

As part of the broader Queens Park Masterplan, the Vera Lacaze Park Amenities project delivered a new, contemporary amenities building to replace the ageing facility within one of Toowoomba’s most significant public spaces.

The new structure was designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding heritage parkland while improving accessibility, durability and overall visitor experience. Construction works carefully preserved existing bluestone pavements and pathways, with locally sourced materials utilised to meet heritage requirements during broader supply constraints. Protection of established fauna and sensitive landscape elements was prioritised throughout delivery.

Undertaken within an active parkland hosting regular festivals and community events, the project required careful staging, stakeholder coordination and impact minimisation strategies to ensure uninterrupted public use. Additional client-directed works beyond the original site boundary were incorporated and completed within the contract timeframe through disciplined planning and resource management. The completed amenities facility enhances the functionality and long-term appeal of the Queens Park precinct.
