Set against the backdrop of Walsh’s Pyramid in Gordonvale, the Stage 2 Redevelopment at Pyramid Residential Care Centre delivered a major expansion and upgrade to this community-based aged care facility.

The works included safe asbestos removal, demolition of the former maintenance building and construction of a new purpose-built laundry facility to improve operational efficiency. The redevelopment also comprised refurbishment of five existing residences (F Block) and construction of 20 new residences (M Block), together with upgrades to access roads, car parking, covered walkways and associated services. Spanning approximately 1,700m², the new and refurbished accommodation incorporated private ensuites and was designed to enhance comfort, accessibility and ease of care.

Delivered within a live aged care environment, the project required sensitive staging, strict noise control and secure site management to protect vulnerable residents, including those living with dementia. Close collaboration with centre management and consultants ensured seamless integration with existing facilities and uninterrupted care operations. The completed redevelopment provides a modern, efficient and welcoming environment that strengthens the Centre’s commitment to quality of life and community wellbeing.
