Kowanyama Housing

Located in the remote Cape York community of Kowanyama, this housing project delivered a series of new residential dwellings designed to support local community needs.

Delivered in collaboration with the local Council and the Department of Housing and Public Works, the project comprised seven homes ranging from two to five bedrooms, providing a mix of housing options to suit varying household requirements. The dwellings were designed to be functional, durable and responsive to the regional environment.

Undertaken in a remote setting, the project required careful coordination of logistics, materials and workforce resources to maintain program efficiency. A strong focus on Indigenous participation was maintained throughout delivery, with employment and training opportunities provided to local community members, contributing to skills development and long-term community outcomes.
