Set within the unique granite landscape of Girraween National Park, this project delivered a new Visitor Information Centre, amenities, carparking and Rangers Station upgrades as part of a major capital works program for Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.

The works included construction of a contemporary Visitor Information Centre designed to integrate with the surrounding environment, an amenities block, accessible pathways and carparking, interactive signage and display installations, and refurbishment of the existing Rangers Station. The facility was conceived as an inclusive learning hub, enabling visitors of all abilities to engage with the park’s natural and cultural heritage in an accessible and immersive way.

Delivered within a live national park environment, the project required careful sequencing, refined program management and close collaboration with rangers, consultants and stakeholders to protect sensitive surroundings. Strategic adjustments to construction sequencing optimised site access and final finishes, contributing to a successful outcome. The completed development provides a sustainable, landscape-responsive facility that enhances visitor experience while respecting the park’s 225-million-year-old natural setting.
