Energy Queensland Warehouse (Swallow Road, Cairns)

The Swallow Road Development delivered a purpose-built logistics warehouse and adjoining administration facility in Edmonton, Cairns, designed to strengthen Energy Queensland’s regional operational and distribution capability.

The facility incorporated high-clearance warehouse space, integrated office accommodation and staff amenities, extensive hardstand areas and supporting civil and services infrastructure tailored to operational requirements. Constructed within an active industrial precinct, the works required disciplined coordination of structural steel, complex fire services, and external infrastructure to achieve program certainty and functional performance.

Challenging ground conditions and prolonged wet weather were managed through proactive sequencing and site control measures, while early subcontractor engagement mitigated regional labour constraints. The completed development provided a durable, efficient and future-focused logistics hub and was recognised with the Industrial Building over $5 million award at the 2022 Far North Queensland Master Builders Awards.
