School & Educational Facilities
Construction
Brisbane
Located on the Manly waterfront, Brisbane, the Darling Point Special School project involved the construction of a new three-storey Learning Centre designed to expand the school’s specialist education facilities and improve accessibility across the campus.
The new building provides 14 learning spaces, a multi-purpose room, staff collaboration areas, student and staff amenities, storage, and an undercroft area designed for future infill. An elevated walkway connects the new facility to the existing school, improving accessibility and circulation.
Works also included the demolition of existing Blocks C, D, and E, and the demolition and replacement of the roof over a covered area.
Delivered within a tight and constrained site, the project required careful planning, including the lease of adjacent properties to safely manage construction away from the busy Esplanade. A tower crane was utilised to efficiently manage vertical construction and material handling.
The completed facility delivers a modern, inclusive, and purpose-built environment that enhances learning outcomes and supports the growth of Darling Point Special School.
