The Aurukun Splashpad Facilities project delivered a purpose-built recreational water play environment designed to provide a safe and engaging space for young children and the broader community.
The development included construction of a new splashpad supported by ancillary infrastructure such as a kiosk, amenities, shade structures, synthetic turf areas and BBQ facilities. The scope also incorporated demolition and modification of existing structures, installation of a new pump station, external lighting and security systems, and construction of a new masonry block pump room to support ongoing operations .
Delivered in a remote Cape York community, the project required careful coordination of materials, services and construction sequencing to ensure efficient delivery and long-term durability. The completed facility provides a vibrant, safe and inclusive recreational space, encouraging community connection and delivering a lasting social asset, reflected in the strong community engagement and enjoyment of the facility.
